| Sleepwriters and General Submission Guidelines | ||||
| •We’ll consider submissions on just about any subject, but manuscripts must be well-written and fit in with the tone and spirit of Great Little Books. •We do not accept email queries, proposals or submissions. •All manuscripts should be double-spaced, with standard margins and on one-sided, numbered pages. There’s no need to bind your manuscripts. You can staple or paper clip if you want. Also, please include the name of your story and your name on every page. •Here’s everything you need to know about mailing: •You’ll need to send a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your manuscripts. Great Little Books is a small press and can’t afford to return manuscripts to anyone who doesn’t send an envelope addressed to themselves that is stamped with the right postage. •Do not send cash or checks for the postage. Sorry, but manuscripts that do not include a stamped, self-addressed envelope will not be returned to their authors. •Do not send your manuscripts SIGNATURE REQUIRED. We do not sign for packages of any kind that we haven’t requested, so the post office will be sending your submission right back to you. |
•Your submission should also include a cover letter with your contact information—name, street address, telephone number and email address. You can also send along your bio and any information about other pieces you’ve published or other credentials that are relevant to your story. •MAKE SURE THAT YOU SEND US A COPY OF YOUR WORK. DON’T SEND YOUR ORIGINAL, PARTICULARLY IF IT’S YOUR ONLY COPY. Stuff happens. •It takes a long time to read submissions and give them the attention they deserve, so it will take as much as six months for us to get back to you. •Sorry, but we can’t report on the status of your submission over the phone. Please don’t call after you submit your work, but if you’ve been waiting for more than six months to hear from us, please drop us an email at info@greatlittlebooksllc.com. Your subject line should read: IT’S BEEN SIX MONTHS. Any emails sent with manuscripts attached will be deleted, unopened.
